Description

Equestrian Goal Setting – the good, the bad, the alternative

15th February 2022

7-9pm Online

Aim:

This online taught session will help the horse owners to learn how to set better goals in your equestrian training and coaching; and what to do if goal setting just doesn’t work for you.

Objectives:

In this interactive session you will learn:

  1. To understand motivation in order to set better goals (internal and external motivation; task and ego orientation; how you view success and failure).
  2. To use performance profiling to identify where you are now and where you want to be.
  3. An overview of the different types of goals and how best to use them (performance, process, learning and outcome goals).
  4. How to be authentically you – who you are and how you do things (context setting rather than goal setting).

We are privileged to have secured  the services  of UK Equine Sports Coach, Alison Lincoln  to deliver this online lecture. If you are a BHS Coach, Alison needs no introduction- her book “Equine Sports Coaching” remains on the Coaches reading list since publication. Her new book “Be Your Own Equine Sports Coach” is due out in February 2021 and comes recommended by the British Eventing Team’s high performance coach Christopher Bartle for “any rider amateur or professional, young or mature”

With a degree in Equine Sports Coaching, Alison has coached and lectured in numerous Colleges and Universities in the UK and has particular in depth knowledge of  Equine and Human Sports Performance, Sports Psychology, Coaching and Exercise Physiology.

We cannot think of anyone more qualified as a trainer, coach  and horse-rider, to help both coaches and riders to plan and reach their riding goals whether this may be starting to hack out, try new schooling or start jumping to advanced competition.

We all need guidance to help achieve our equestrian goals and this session is a must for all horse riders and coaches

Alison  runs her equestrian training company Alison Lincoln and is available for coaching, training,  and academic support and writing.

(Alison’s new book is out in February and available for  pre-purchase at reduced price)

We will be delivering this session via Zoom and to achieve a CPD Certificate, a short confirmation of learning assessment will be available at the end of the session (we have introduced this to ensure that criteria for our organisations learning objectives are met for us to present CPD- we want to ensure that your are learning with us- not watching TV at the same time!)
